Vitals - Everyday Platinum - 60 Tablets
Everyday Platinum is a potent multivitamin that provides the highest dose of microntrients among the wide range of Vital's products. One dose (two tablets) daily will provide the recommended intakes for a myriad of essential vitamins and minerals. This is very important for some groups of people, who may suffer from nutrient deficiencies.
One of the biggest issues with formulating multivitamins is packing all the macrominerals into one tiny capsule or tablet. What are macrominerals? Good question, these are the minerals that we need in larger amounts than the smaller, trace elements. But, instead of compromising on the dosage of these, we instead, have increased the daily dose to two tablets, instead of one. This has allowed us to provide generous amounts of key essential nutrients such as:
- Magnesium (100 mg)
- Calcium (200 mg)
- Potassium (300 mg)
- Vitamin C (400 mg)
- Vitamin K2 (180 mcg)
- Vitamin D3 ( 50 mcg)

Who needs a multivitamin?
Multivitamins are deisnged for those who are at risk or currently suffer from multiple nutrient deficiencies. These include some adult groups, the elderly and athletes. The latter might be at risk of nutrient deficiencies due to excessive sweating rates, insufficient food intake, high energy output, weakened immune system and more. However, if you do not have any nutrient deficiencies, it is pertinent that you consult your physician before deciding to use a multivitamin. For example, if you only suffer from one micronutrient deficiency, you should check out our specific nutrient range here.
What is in the multivitamin?
The following information has been adapted from the Vitals official website and they should be referred to for any questions, comments or issues regarding this description. PLENT does not accept any responsibility for this information.
B vitamins in optimal forms and dosages
Every Day Platinum contains ample, but also responsible doses of B vitamins. The daily requirement (DR) and the average intake (AI) and distribution thereof were carefully considered. This also takes into account the extent to which the body is able to convert the various B vitamins, the latest scientific insights and safe upper limits.
Every Day Platinum contains the biologically active (co-enzymatic) forms of vitamin B2 (riboflavin-5'-phosphate), B6 (pyridoxal-5'-phosphate), B12 (methyl and adenosylcobalamin) and folic acid (5-methyltetrahydrofolate glucosamine salt) . These are the forms as used by the body and research shows that they have a higher bioavailability in the body.
Folate as 5-methyltetrahydrofolate
Folic acid (pteroylmonoglutamic acid), which is mostly used in food supplements for stability reasons, is a synthetic form not found in nature. In the diet, it is known as folate. Folic acid must be converted by the body to tetrahydrofolate and then to 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). Research shows that this complex conversion process is far from optimal in a significant group of people. Supplementation with 5-MTHF circumvents this problem.
Every Day Platinum uses the superior form 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, bound to glucosamine salt (branded Quatrefolic®). This binding with glucosamine salt (from vegetable source) makes it possible to keep the biologically active form stable and ensures optimal absorption. Studies show that Quatrefolic® has a higher water solubility, stability and bioavailability. In addition, 5-MTHF is able to cross the blood-brain barrier, in contrast to the 'normal' (synthetic) form of folic acid.
Vitamin B12 as methyl and adenosylcobalamin
The absorption of vitamin B12 from food is a complex process. In addition, there are indications that the RDA (or RI) of 2.5 mcg per day is underestimated and the needs of healthy adults and elderly can vary and amount to more than 20 mcg per day. Due to the safety of vitamin B12 supplementation and the sometimes difficult absorption of B12 from food and supplements, Every Day Platinum contains a whopping 40 mcg of vitamin B12 in the biologically active forms methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin.
Many B12 products and multi's contain cyanocobalamin which is a cheaper, synthetic form of vitamin B12, which does not occur in nature and must be converted by the body into the active forms. The cyanide part is disconnected from the cobalamin and this must then be cleared up by the body. Studies therefore show that vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin has a higher bioavailability than cyanocobalamin.
Vitamin D
European government agencies have established in recent years that the level for an adequate intake of vitamin D from food should be higher (15 mcg) and that the maximum permitted dose could be increased (100 mcg). In the Netherlands they are still careful and indicate that 10 mcg is sufficient and that the maximum amount is 75 mcg. The RDA / RI is strangely enough still stuck at 5 mcg. But in the orthomolecular world the importance of higher doses has been known for some time. Leading vitamin D experts recommend that the vitamin D level (calcidiol level) should be at least 75 nmol / l. To maintain such a vitamin D level, an oral dose of vitamin D3 of an estimated 25-75 mcg per day is required. Every Day Platinum therefore contains a generous dose of 50 mcg per two tablets.
Vitamin K
Each Platinum Day contains 45 mcg of vitamin K1 and 180 mcg of vitamin K2. Vitamin K1 is mainly absorbed by the liver and activates coagulation factors, while vitamin K2 is much more distributed in the body tissues. The regularly established RDA for vitamin K is based on the amount required for normal blood clotting.
The optimal dosage for the other, very important functions of vitamin K was not considered here. Such as ensuring that calcium is properly absorbed and reaches the right place, namely in the bones. And in the regular advice no distinction is made between vitamins K1 and K2. Vitamin K2 is absorbed no less than 10x better and has a much greater bioavailability than vitamin K1. Therefore, vitamin K2 is much more effective in achieving optimal vitamin K status and superior to vitamin K1.
Vitamin K2 is also much more effective than vitamin K1 in activating specific vitamin K dependent enzymes. It is these activated enzymes that ensure that calcium finds its way to the bones. Research has shown that 180 mcg of vitamin K2 is the optimal daily dose. And research has shown it's important to maintain bone health and not wait until it's already too late. Research has shown that 180 mcg of vitamin K2 is the optimal daily dose. And research has shown it's important to maintain bone health and not wait until it's already too late. Research has shown that 180 mcg of vitamin K2 is the optimal daily dose. And research has shown it's important to maintain bone health and not wait until it's already too late.
Vitamin K2 appears to be a very sensitive substance. Especially in combination with calcium and / or magnesium, the content of this vitamin in a tablet or capsule drops sharply. Using vitamin K2 in a product with high doses of calcium and / or magnesium is technically a real challenge. Vitals therefore uses a high-quality K2 ingredient with the brand name K2Vital Delta, which is even stable in a formula containing many of these minerals. It uses a patented micro-encapsulation process, which protects the fat-soluble two-layer K2 particles (gum arabic and starch) from air, light and interaction with other ingredients. Vitals has commissioned research into the stability of this K2Vital Delta, as well as other brands of vitamin K2, in an independent laboratory. specifically in combination with the ingredients used in Vitals products. The conclusions were that protecting the K2 is absolutely necessary, that the K2 content remained well stable with K2Vital Delta, and that it was superior to the other K2 ingredients.
Calcium and magnesium
A special feature of this multivitamin is that it contains high doses of calcium and magnesium, so that they do not have to be taken as a separate product. It's that easy. And the source of these minerals is also special: they are from the Aquamin® brand and are sourced directly from ocean.
The magnesium (Aquamin Magnesium) is obtained from the seawater of the Irish Sea, and studies show that it is particularly well absorbed by the body. In addition to approximately 35% elemental magnesium, the raw material also contains small amounts of more than 70 trace elements. The calcium (Aquamin Calcium) comes from a red algae called Lithothamnium calcareum.
This type of algae absorbs and stores minerals and trace elements from the sea. While alive it has a beautiful red / pink color, but when it dies, it calcifies and turns white or light gray. Only calcified red algae is harvested from the waters off the coast of Iceland. In addition to 32% calcium, the raw material also contains 3% magnesium and small amounts of more than 70 trace elements. The synergistic effect of the natural trace element profile of this calcium and magnesium, may help explain the better absorption and the impressive studies that have been done with it.
Potassium
Potassium is often one of the first minerals to lose out when a multivitamin and mineral preparation is formulated. This is because the daily requirement of potassium is high (about 3500 mg per day for adults) and not that much fits in a tablet. You often see no potassium or very low doses in multi's. But in Every Day Platinum there is also room for no less than 300 mg of potassium! This is quite unique and yet very important. Because in addition to the many regular advice to pay attention to salt intake (sodium), you can read in studies and articles from the orthomolecular angle also the advice to think about increasing the potassium intake. In addition, the recent food consumption survey shows that the daily intake in the Netherlands for adults is on average around 3200 mg, while the recommended amount is 3500 mg.
Iron, zinc, copper and manganese as amino acid chelate (bisglycinate)
Amino acid chelates (bisglycinates) have been chosen for the minerals iron, zinc, copper and manganese. Each mineral particle is strongly bound (chelated) to two molecules of the amino acid glycine. Minerals in this form of compound reach the small intestine well and are very well absorbed. They are also mild on the stomach, which can be a great advantage, especially in the case of iron (Ferrochel®). Moreover, Vitals specifically chooses the amino acid chelates of Albion Minerals, recognizable by the trademark TRAACS®, which stands for The Real Amino Acid Chelate System. This brand was created to be able to differentiate well from other, possibly inferior, unstable amino acid chelates. Albion has registered more than 100 patents worldwide that guarantee the process.
Choline
Choline has been used as a standard ingredient in multivitamins for a long time in doeses of between 10-30 mg. In 2012, three health claims for choline were approved by the European Commission, which apply at a dose of at least 82.5 mg.
It is important for normal lipid and homocysteine metabolism and important for normal liver function. In 2016, the RDA was set at 550 mg/day in the US, based on clinical research specifically designed to determine the daily requirement. In 2016, the EFSA also ruled that choline is an essential nutrient, but has not yet established an RDA. The adequate intake (AI) was established at 400 mg/day, based on the average intake in European countries, not based on the US study. The average intake of adults in Europe varies between 291 and 468 mg / day. This provided the rationale for including generous amount of choline in a daily multivitamin. Every Day Platinum contains no less than 170mg of choline from the VitaCholine® brand. This brand stands for superior quality and has conducted exhaustive research on all of their products.
Luteïne, zeaxanthine i meso-zeaxanthine
In addition to 10mg lutein and 2mg zeaxanthin, Every Day Platinum also contains 10 mg mesozeaxanthin, which is a unique and cutting-edge addition. These are natural carotenoids that are in high concentration in the retina (retina) and macula lutea (yellow spot). Detects details and colors. The body cannot produce lutein and zeaxanthin internally, and so must obtain them from foods. These occur in green leafy vegetables, and red, yellow and orange vegetables and fruits. Meso-zeaxanthin is very limited in food (shrimp, the skin of salmon, the skin and the flesh of trout). It is primarily produced in the retina by conversion of lutein through an enzymatic reaction. It can be well nourished. Lutein,
Coenzyme Q10
Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is a natural bodily substance, produced in the mitochondria (the so-called 'energy factories') of every cell in our body. Loosely translated, 'ubiquinone' means roughly 'everywhere'. With age, the body's own production of coenzyme Q10 gradually decreases. Everyday Platinum, contains an impressive dose of 50mg CoQ10 and so can help to offset this age-related decline.
Taurine
Taurine is a semi-essential nutrient for adults and is mainly synthesized in the liver and brain from the sulfur-containing amino acids cysteine and methionine; Vitamin B6 is involved in this conversion. Endogenous synthesis is limited and dietary intake is important for a good taurine status, especially when the taurine requirement is increased. Since taurine is mainly present in meat, fish and poultry, vegetarians and vegans are more likely to have a low dietary intake.
Acetyl-L-carnitine
In the diet carnitine is mainly found in (red) meat and to a much lesser extent in vegetable foods. Carnitine can be converted to acetyl-L-carnitine as needed and vice versa. In the liver, kidneys and brain, carnitine can be synthesized from the amino acids lysine and methionine, with vitamin C, iron, vitamin B6 and niacin as co-factors. Supplementation with acetyl-L-carnitine has the advantage over L-carnitine that it crosses the blood-brain barrier more easily.
Alpha lipoic acid
Alpha lipoic acid is a sulfur-containing fatty acid found in the mitochondria of every cell. It is soluble in both fat and water, which is an important property. Small amounts of alpha lipoic acid are produced in the body. In addition, it is found in small amounts in food, for example in liver, spinach and broccoli.
PQQ
Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) is a substance that was discovered in 1964 and occurs in small quantities in, for example, fermented products such as natto and tofu, eggs, breast milk, but also in certain herbs, vegetables and fruits. The body also produces very small amounts itself. Everyday Platinum uses the patented MGC-PQQ® (previously known as BioPQQ®), based on natural fermentation. A lot of research has been done with this product and it has been approved as a dietary supplement in Europe in 2018.
