It is crucial to understand that sustainability does not equal quality by default. Laboratory testing has shown that fish collagen from wild-caught cod - MSC certified or not - contains arsenic (and inorganic arsenic) and lead. Plent Marine Collagen is free of arsenic and lead, as confirmed by independent laboratory tests. This is one of the main reasons why we use collagen from farmed fish for our Fish Collagen.

Traditionally, collagen supplements use bovine (cows) and porcine (pigs) as collagen sources. But as further studies were done, collagen from marine life is more sustainable and of better quality.
