Scoop of high quality hemp protein

What is hemp protein?

Our hemp protein powder is an excellent alternative to whey protein, with a punch of digestible protein, to help you meet your training goals. Because of our delicate process, there is also the added benefit of fibre and omega-3 fatty acids.

Hemp is derived from the same plant from which marijuana is cultivated, but does not contain any of the psychoactive properties of the latter (Source: Examine.com).

  • Protein
  • Fibre
  • Omega-3 fatty acids
  • Essential minerals

The powder mixes flawlessly with water or milk and will add a punch of protein to your smoothie or drink. We do not add any flavourings or preservatives and so the powder comes with an earthy taste.

Is hemp protein vegan?

Yep! Hemp protein is sourced completely from the plant, and contains no animal products whatsoever! Perfect alternative to whey protein for vegetarians and vegans, or those that are simply trying to reduce their animal-based food intake!

Key health aspects of hemp protein

Our organic hemp protein is a perfect alternative to animal-based protein. It provides all the essential amino acids alongside a healthy dose of both fibre and omega-3 fatty acids.

Protein

Hemp is one of few plant-sources with a such a favourable protein content alongside a high digestibility rating. What does this all mean? Well, many plant foods have a low digestibility rating meaning that the fibre and other compounds block the absorption of some of the important nutrients that they contain.

Instead, our hemp protein powder has an exceptionally high digestibility which enables most, if not all the protein to be absorbed and used in the body. This will help you reach your body composition goals!

Fibre

One of the additional benefits of our plant-based protein over whey, is the fibre content from the seeds. In fact, one small 20g scoop contains 4.6g of fibre! This is a considerable portion of our daily needs of 25-30 grams.

Fibre is an essential nutrient that is under-consumed by many adults. Fibre contributes to a healthy digestive system, diverse bacteria in the colon, favourable cholesterol levels and may aid weight loss.

Omega 3 fatty acids

Another added benefit of our hemp protein is the composition of essential fatty acids, especially omega-3. These are the building blocks for the production of anti-inflammatory compounds in the body.

Omega-3 fatty acids are also essential for protection against the degeneration of eyes and the brain, optimal heart function and mental health (Source: NCBI, NCBI & NCBI

Essential minerals

Hemp is a natural source of magnesium, calcium, iron, manganese, zinc and copper (Source: NCBI). These are essential nutrients needed in very small amounts, but crucial all the same. Very few studies have examined the effect that processing has on these minerals in hemp. At PLENT, we only use the most efficient and safest methods to best preserve the nutritional profile.

Magnesium is an important cofactor for the energy-releasing interactions in the body, iron for the transport of oxygen around the body and zinc for immune function and wound healing.
